-NOURISH YOUR BODY –

Card: Obstacles & Challenges

 

The Obstacles & Challenges card is making an appearance again this month! This is the same card that we had for July, which tells me that the challenges you might be having with your physical body are not over. I would love to know how this is showing up for you! For me, it’s been showing up as overall feelings of fatigue, fighting off some sort of cold or flu that has not made me actually sick, but that seems to be lurking behind the scenes and just overall not feeling as strong as usual.

This card is reminding us to feel some compassion towards our physical body. Don’t get upset – our challenges are there to remind us that something isn’t quite right. Take time to rest & recover if necessary. You might also need to make some changes in the way you nourish your body, both with what you put into your body (food) and how you move your body.

Ask yourself how you can nourish your body this month. How can you eat, drink, move & rest in a way that’s more supportive? Just as I said last month: listen to your body and respect your needs — whatever they may be.

 

-NOURISH YOUR MIND-

Card: Recognition & Reward

 

The Recognition & Reward card shows up to remind you to honor yourself and your progress. Have you been working on your mindset? Maybe you’ve been really letting go of some old beliefs and patterns? Maybe you’ve been flexing your brain muscle and learning some new skills or studying a new topic? Whatever you’ve been up to, stop to recognize just how far you’ve come!

Sometimes we don’t see the immediate effects of our mindset work — whether it’s changing habits or learning new things. It can feel like a lot of work for minimal gain. However, transformation starts in the mind. It’s those first shifts that open us up to take new actions. It’s the increased awareness that helps us to see new opportunities.

This month, take a few minutes to journal about how you’ve changed & transformed when it comes to your mind. What have you noticed about your awareness, your beliefs, your thoughts and your overall knowledge? How is this affecting your life?

You’re doing great work! Give yourself a little recognition and praise!!

 

-NOURISH YOUR SPIRIT-

Card: Stand Your Ground

 

One of the reasons that we sometimes fail to see our own progress (like I mentioned above) is because it can feel like we’re constantly being challenged. There is always something coming up that demands our attention and derails our efforts. It can feel like you’re constantly swimming upstream, despite your best efforts!

It’s important to recognize that this is part of the human experience. It’s our own resistance to the challenges and obstacles that makes it feel hard. In fact, just calling them challenges and obstacles is part of the resistance! Really, all of these challenges are just bumps in the road, and it’s up to us to choose whether we see it as an inconvenience or just part of the journey (or possibly even as an adventure if you’re up for it!)

Our perspective and how we choose to observe and interpret our experience is what makes all the difference! You have to choose to take a stand for your own life and for the joy you experience. You have to choose to take a stand for your own abilities in navigating whatever comes your way. (You’re completely capable by the way!)

It’s up to you to step up and decide to embrace all parts of you and your experience. You have more control of your life (how you see, experience and react to everything around you) than you think!

 

The overall message this month is to honour your journey and embrace your experience as you move through life. This is certainly not always easy, especially as we’re consumed by what we perceive as the challenging times. It’s much easier to see how it all fits together when we reflect on the past, then it is to accept and surrender in the present.

The good news is, that even when you resist and even when you struggle, it’s all ok. It’s all part of being perfectly imperfect. It’s all part of the human experience…which is why you’re here.  🙂
