A new month is here and that means it’s time to shuffle my oracle cards and see what’s coming our way! As you probably know, I don’t use these readings to try to predict the future. Instead, my goal is to get some guidance around how we can best navigate the month from a broader perspective.
I also share weekly oracle card readings in the Nourish + Shine Facebook group.
This month, I pulled 4 cards to answer the following questions:
- What is the overall theme for the month?
- What do we need to invite into our lives (what do we need more of) so that we can thrive this month?
- What do we need to let go of (what do we need less of) so that we can thrive this month?
- Is there any additional guidance that can help us this month?
(If you’re interested, I used The Psychic Tarot oracle deck by John Holland.)
THIS MONTH’S THEME
Card: Stand Your Ground
Although this month feels lighter than May did, there will still be some challenging energy present that might cause you to feel unclear and unsure of yourself or your direction. The Stand Your Ground card is reminding you to put your own needs first right now.
You might think standing your ground means standing up for yourself or having strong boundaries with other people (and it can mean that) but this month I believe that the stronger message is about putting ourselves first.
This is especially important if you’re feeling unclear or confused about what your next steps are because you may feel that you’re not exactly sure what you stand for anymore. We’re in a time of change right now. You may be feeling like parts of your identity are falling away. While this can feel scary, it’s also a necessary part of growth.
Rather than feeling like you have to “take a stance” if you’re not quite there yet, instead focus on having your own back. Give yourself the time and understanding you need. Focus on self-love and self-compassion as you move forward step by step. Don’t feel that you have to have everything figured out right now.
WHAT TO INVITE IN
Card: Heartache & Loss
Along the same lines as I was mentioning above, you may be feeling like parts of you are dissolving. You could be faced with some truths about yourself or someone around you that shake your foundations and make you question many of your beliefs. Suddenly you can see right through everyone’s b.s. and you’re not interested in playing any games anymore.
Ultimately, this is a good thing. A new level of clarity and self-understanding is coming. But right now you may be feeling a little discombobulated. Things don’t seem as black and white as they used to. You might look in the mirror and wonder who’s staring back at you.
It’s natural to experience a certain amount of mourning for the layers that you’re shedding. Even when it’s for the best, change is still hard. Again, give yourself time and compassion to be with whatever is coming up. It will get easier with time.
WHAT TO LET GO
Card: Patience & Planning
We love to plan out our lives in the hopes of feeling some sense of control (even though it’s a complete illusion.) The problem is that right now, things are changing quickly and planning probably won’t do you much good. Neither will patience. LOL!
Yes, give yourself time and space to grow and evolve. But you don’t need to wait until everything is clear and perfect before you move forward. (You’ll be waiting a very long time!)
If you’re one of those people who likes to wait until the time is right or until you’ve got a solid plan, this message is for you! You cannot find clarity by thinking and planning. You find clarity by doing. So while I mentioned above that you need to give yourself time, I mean in terms of having space to process your thoughts and emotions. I don’t mean doing nothing.
Start with baby steps if you need to, but keep moving forward. Try something completely new and different and see where it takes you. Be spontaneous! Follow your intuition and pay attention to synchronicities…and see where they take you!
We’re finishing the reading with the Sacrifice card, which was our theme from last month’s reading. That’s letting us know that we aren’t quite done with that theme. Last month, I talked about how the artwork on the card depicts a woman who is emerging from the murky waters into a place with flowers and rainbows. I believe that we’re still in that emerging phase. (And we might be there for a while.)
As I’ve talked about above, a lot in your world might feel murky right now. Not necessarily bad, but unclear, unsettled and a bit uncomfortable. The good news is that you don’t have to wait for the water to clear. You can just start moving out of it.
I also mentioned last month that in the Psychic Tarot deck, the Sacrifice card comes right before the Transformation card. Sacrifice is how we get to change. It means experiencing some discomfort now in order to experience growth and transformation later. That might include asking yourself some hard questions, facing some shadows within yourself you thought were long gone, and allowing the parts of yourself that no longer fit to dissolve.
Allowing yourself to change your mind doesn’t mean you are being inauthentic. Change is natural (and a good thing.) Just because you made a decision years ago or have held a belief for most of your life doesn’t mean you have to continue to hold on to it going forward. If it doesn’t feel right or good anymore, thank it for getting you to where you are, and then let it go.
The overall message this month is to back yourself and give yourself space to grow and evolve. Don’t worry about what anyone else may think of you. Everyone resists change, so if someone makes a negative comment, it’s a reflection of their own resistance to change. Stand up for your right to be in a messy place if you need to be. It’s not your job to make everyone around you comfortable.
Remember above all that you deserve to feel good. Tune in to your inner Wise Self for guidance and trust the process. <3
