A new month is here and that means it’s time to shuffle my oracle cards and see what’s coming our way! As you probably know, I don’t use these readings to try to predict the future. Instead, my goal is to get some guidance around how we can best navigate the month from a broader perspective.
I also share weekly oracle card readings in the Nourish + Shine Facebook group.
This month, I pulled 4 cards to answer the following questions:
- What is the overall theme for the month?
- What do we need to invite into our lives (what do we need more of) so that we can thrive this month?
- What do we need to let go of (what do we need less of) so that we can thrive this month?
- Is there any additional guidance that can help us this month?
(If you’re interested, I used The Psychic Tarot oracle deck by John Holland.)
THIS MONTH’S THEME
We’re likely to see some strong energies this month, as 3 out of 4 cards for this reading were major arcana cards–starting with the Sacrifice card. This may seem like a pretty heavy card to start with, but if you look at the artwork on the card, you can see that there’s a sense of balance. The woman on the card is emerging from the murky waters into a place with flowers and rainbows!
I believe the message for us this month is that this is a time to buckle down, make some hard choices and take some uncomfortable actions. It will involve sacrifice in the short term, but will ultimately result in much more joy and fulfillment.
In The Psychic Tarot deck, the Sacrifice card comes right before the transformation card…in other words, it’s sacrifice that leads to big change. Remember, sacrifice doesn’t need to mean pain. It may mean putting priority on one area of your life or doing something uncomfortable or putting a dream on hold temporarily.
WHAT TO INVITE IN
The next card that came up was the Awareness card. The message of this card is to bring more intention and presence into your life, and to understand how much power you actually have in your own life.
It’s easy to be thrown off track by circumstances that are out of your control. However, there’s always one thing that you do have control over: your reaction.
I believe that this card ties in with the previous one in that you may need to really turn to your intuition and make some deliberate choices and decisions this month. If you feel like you’re in a challenging situation, reflect on what you do have control over. Don’t stress yourself out over what you can’t control. Focus on what you can do. You probably have a lot more influence over your situation than you think you do.
Don’t forget that you have your own inner Wise Self to turn to for guidance and you are much wiser and stronger than you think!
WHAT TO LET GO
Next we have the Light card, which is a beautiful and positive card, all about allowing yourself to shine brightly in your life. This card follows the Shadow card in The Psychic Tarot deck, which is all about facing your shadows and your worst fears, so I’m not surprised that it’s come up.
For several months we’ve been on a really inward journey — facing our fears, confronting our limiting beliefs and letting go of old stories. This month, we’re still in a process of letting go so that we can begin to shine again.
This month, focus on joy and positivity and let go of anything that doesn’t feel good. This isn’t about burying the negative…in fact, it’s likely that you’ve spent a lot of time in reflection, really looking in the mirror and facing your own truths. You’ve done the inner work, and now it’s time to move on. You can call on the light to help you let go of any lingering doubts or fears. It’s the light that brings new growth and transformation.
Card: Financial & Material Changes
Our final card this month is Financial & Material Changes. This is the only minor arcana card of the reading, meaning it’s message is valuable but carries less intensity. This card is about change, and may suggest a loss in finances or material possessions.
I believe the message of this card is to remind us to stay positive through any financially challenging situations this month. Remember that you are not your bank account, nor are you your material possessions. Your worth does not go up and down based on the number on your bank statement.
In keeping with the first three cards, there may be a temporary sacrifice that needs to be made in order to bring stability or create a stronger financial foundation. Ask yourself, what needs to be done to ensure that I feel financially secure?
Remember that you have more control over your situation than you realize. Ask yourself, how will I choose to show up in this situation? How will I choose to react? What decisions and actions will I choose?
And finally, look for the positive side — just because things don’t happen the way you expect them to doesn’t mean things aren’t working out for your highest good. Take the actions you feel are necessary, then trust the process.
The overall message this month is to follow what sparks joy within you. Even though you may need to make some temporary sacrifices this month, you can still look for the positive side and show up in a truly authentic and genuine way. Remember that the only outcome you can control is how you show up in your life! When you do this, you may surprise yourself by how much you can actually transform your experience into a more joyful one, without changing any external circumstances. <3
